KZ = Z. KZ merely means it was marketed in North America...Z essentially means it was marketed not in North America (unless it refers to the Z1 series, and then all were "Z's"). There are, however, regional differences between the KZ and Z series. 1978 KZ650D1 = first year of production for the SR series. Welcome...pictures are generally mandatory :)

Welcome to KZR JD!

Not enough Oregonians on here. There's Skyman, OregonMatt and myself as best I can remember. Still that's enough for a group ride.

Did I leave out anybody?

Pics of you ride are mandatory!

"whats up from Salem Oregon"...

Uhm... Washington, Canada and Alaska... Did I win?
You may as well as get use to this treatment, rough crowd around here at times...

Welcome to the insane... Congrats on the KZ650... Now it if you're married, have little ones, have a GF, then kiss them good bye for roughly 2 years for this becomes an obsession....

Sure, you're thinking naw that won't happen to me... Yeah right, happened to all of us...

There's a whole slew of guys in here with KZ650's, some stock and some cafe racers that will be more than happy to help you in your re-build/modifications....

BTW, update your profile to display year, exact model of your KZ... This will help when you have questions where others won;t have to reply "What bike are we speaking of, what model, what year etc..."
