Howzit, From South Africa! was created by zollie
Hi all, thanks for reading my post :)

Just a little bit about myself; I live and Work in Cape Town, which is at the bottom of Africa, and South Africa.. :woohoo: Jha that's right, South Africa :)

I really like motorcycles, love riding it, love everything it stands for, especially the older ones :)

Been riding on couple of bikes thus far, started about 10 years back:

Yamaha DT50 X2 - sold
Yamaha RZ125 - sold
Yamaha RZ125r - Had power valves - sold
Honda VFR 750 f - First single sided veefer =sold
Hyosung GT650R - real piece of kark..traded in on proper twin..SV..
Suzuki SV1000s - written off
Yamaha BWS100cc - Ja ja it was a scooter..
Yamaha VMAX 1200 - still have
Kawasaki Z750 - still have, need a lot of help, I'm struggling with this one..

About a month ago I bought this kawa, it has had a hard life.. Motor was rebuild about 10 000 km (approx 6250miles) ago..

I'm told it is an Kawasaki Z750 with all the Zephyr parts, tank, clocks, handles, rear single shock+swinger, rims etc..

So basically only stock motor and frame?

The vin number starts: KZ750e02...
The engine number starts: KZ750EE02...

She is leaking oil, about everywhere, front discs buckled, have replacements but they are to big, needs to be shimmed down, Cracked swinger at the back by adjuster nut, err leaking some more oil, leaking some fuel from under the tank, wiring is a mess - everything seems to work okay, but ducktape and dodgy wiring all round..that combined with the fuel leak.. err.. makes far an interesting ride..o and leaking some more oil still..

So in a nutshell, I'm not exactly sure what I have, KZ750 E 1 2 3 ? ... If possible I need a lot of help on the wiring side, replacing gaskets - thinking of doing more rather than less, aka all.. Have been snooping around on Z1 and they luckily export to SA!

Hope you hear from you soon, and thanks for having me :)
O I'm and running a blog here: www.damduiker.co.za but haven't updated in quite a while...

No worries and getting that old girl back up for parts are still available... Plenty of folks here more than happy to help in diagnosing and providing guidnace when or when not required....

We can at times (there's an understatment) get on the Opinonated side here  but it's all in love and war with our KZ brothers....

Hallo daar fellow KZRider, howzit and welkom to the KZR Nation. It is really great to have you here. You are in the right place for all things KZ.

I was in Pretoria about a decade ago training some Siemens Telecoms and Botswana Telecom people. Had a great time. Loved Monte Casino outside Joeburg but never could get enough time together to see Cape Town.

IMHO, for all the problems it has your 750 looks pretty good to me. You have a lot of possibilities there.

Again, IMHO, I believe that the first order of business is to fix the tank leak with some welding or a different tank. After that everything should be doable.

Best of success, :)
Bill

Remember to add your year, model and location to your signature to get the very best responses... and yes it is considered real friendly too.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the replies, will be going through them a bit more in detail in due time.

Glad to see some old South African's on here - so dankie tog as ek sukkel om die moering tool se naam uit te spreek sal ek maar net vra ;)

I think my lady had so my cosmetic surgeries it its life, that it is really developing an identity problem...is there a "map" to link VIN / Enginge num to model number?

I agree she has relative little problems, just "irritating ones", currently rides, but for safety sakes I'm rather staying on the Max for now..

Hope to have a good time here, speak again, off to work - the time is ticking past 6:30 am... hehe

Regards,

Zollie

Welcome Zollie...never have been to your country but have had a number of friends visit...as for your question, there are some gaps in the posted databases of motor/frame VIN's for certain Kawasaki's and, unfortunately, the database for 750(4)'s is one of them. There does not appear to be a complete listing of VIN's for the 750 series online. However, if you post the complete frame VIN, perhaps we can compare it to known bikes on this forum and get you a better ID.

If no one leaps in with an ID, I'll check my literature at home this evening and post an answer.

Thanks much appreciated..

Tonight I've got the tank, air box, carbs off, drained oil, tomorrow I'll probably be pulling the motor.. Hope to sort what ever is causing the noise in the motor..
