Hello all, I'm Derek.

Just joined your nice forum here after a few searches trying to find out some more about the 1980 KZ750 4cyl I just aquired. It looks to be a plethora of information, and a nice place to find out more.

I thought I should do the introduction thing because that seems to be the thing to do, ha ha...

Anyway, I have a few bikes in the works, some I'm thinking of dumping and have owned a few over the years. I haven't ridden for a few years now, but am aching to get this one up and running. Look for my post to be put into the carb section about an airbox and leaky carbs, I'll keep this one to an intro.

A quick rundown of the ones I'm trying to project on now, being in an partment doesn't help, but it's all good.

I have an '83 GPz550, neat little scooter. It's mostly on a box now. About 10 hours from being done, but in a box for a few years now. I had it torn down to rebuild the steering head when I got divorved a few years back. Now I just need the spot to put it back.

I also own an '83 SECA 750, also a fun bike, but am having a very hard time finding carb parts or others to put back on, then ran into a lack of spark issue, but that's another thread also.

My next big project is the '85 ninja 900, it's been down hard, but I'll do it up once I have a garage to work in again.

I am presently working on an '80 KZ750 4. Having a few carb issues and needing a bit of TLC in general, but a running bike overall, so that's why it's on the block now.

Just got rid of a late '70's GS550 and matching GS650, just had too many to contend with.

I've owned a few others over the years but am just getting to a place I can start farting around with them again.

I'm glad to be on board here and look forward to learning and hopefully helping on occasion when I can.

That's all, or maybe too much, but thanks for having me...

Derek

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Sorry it's ben a wjile since I posted, but the holidays get everyone crazy.

I'll work on some pictures over the next few days, of at least the KZ. I need to get some started so I can have a running set of "what I've done" history.

I'll see if I can't find some of the SECA and I have some of the Ninja, but it's a pile right now. It went down hard.

Thanks again for the welcome...

[file] I'd like to say welcome from another noob here. These guys aren't BSing about the pictures. They tell me more pictures every time I post. Selfishly I want to see the pics of that Ninja when you bring her back to life. I see one of those early Ninja running around locally, and I think that that design has stood the test of time well. Soo many other mid eighties to mid nineties sport bikes don't seem to have aged well.

Here's a random pic to keep the hounds at bay:

We more than just like pictures here...

We're picture WHORES damn it!!! :woohoo:

And always, pre & post images are a must for there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a beat up old POS KZ turned into a sweet ass looking, finely tuned running KZ... Nothing better than that... B)

The KZR terminology for this is KZ-PORN....

Welcome now keep them pictures coming....
