been browsing your forums for a while, just picked up my bike today, it's an 82 or 83 kz550 ltd and it was free. I will post pics soon.

Lifes journey is not to arrive at the grave safely and in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, shouting ''Holy sh*t, what a ride!''

Welcome aboard!

There are a lot of riders here with that bike and will be a lot of help.

Post pictures when you can.

Add you bike to your signiture in your profile. It will save a lot of time helping riders that has the answer to your questions but don't know what kind of bike you have. Roy

I had almost the same bike, I really liked it. Once I fixed a hole in the exhaust that old girl sounded like heaven when you twisted the throttle!

wow, looking back that was a pretty pathetic introduction, here's a better quick story about me:

I am 15, spent the first 14 years of my life in central Washington state and moved here to Asheville, NC about 9 months ago. I have been riding off road for 3 years and recently started riding my buddies street bikes (small neighborhood, no one cares) but I do still ride my 81 DR500 constantly, which no one believes I ride until I show them.

I'm pretty open so any questions are welcome, the worst I can do is not answer.

and thanks for the welcome guys!
