Managed to pick up on an 83' GPZ1100 that runs GREAT AND Still has the EFI, that functions properly! 've been a fan of the Mighty Kawasaki Fours Since the 900 made it's debut! I got my interest in motorcycles quite a while back, when I was born and got old enough to wander around my Granddad's Indian Motorcycle Shop that he started back in 1932. My Dad joined him, when he was just starting high school ( Dad went to school for a little while, got into it with the P.E. teacher, quit and went home where my Granddad said, okay, but now YOU are going to WORK here! I was born in 1947, got my 1st bike (not for the street :P )when I was 12 years old and was burning up the back yard and the field just down the street. Then, when I was 14 years old and had been bugging my Dad to get me a motorcycle, he said I could have one IF I graduated the 7th grade. Well, I had already failed once, but this time I made it!;)
So the 1st Saturday after graduation, I was ready to go to my Granddad's shop to get MY motorcycle. When we got there, my Dad said that it was upstairs. Now, I had been going UPSTAIRS ever since I could walk pretty well and I had NEVER seen a motorcycle up there. He sent me up there 3 times and on the way down for the 3rd time, he handed me a parts book for a 125cc Jawa, saying "It's up there, you just have to put it together!

Well, I DID manage to put that one together and it wasn't until later, that I actually appreciated what he had done BTW, my Granddad did the SAME THING to my Dad, except I had to put EVERYTHING together except to spoke up the wheels (that was already done). Whereas my Dad only had to put the components together. I had to assemble the engine, trans......etc. Dad claimed he wanted to give ME more education. Got my 1st Japanese bike (a 66' CB72 Hawk) while I was in the U.S . Air Force In Japan in 1967 - 69'. My Granddad passed away on Dec 68' and I kinda got away from motorcycles for quite awhile, until about 10yrs ago and I started getting into the Hondas again and joined up at the SOHC4 to deal with some of the SOHC4's and others. Now Here I am with my 1st Street Kawasaki and it's an 83' GPZ1100 that I picked up off ebay for a reasonable price and was only about 2hrs away.;)

Thanks for the welcome guys, as you can see, I've got to get used to how to do things here, If I'm not careful, I'll be duplicating everything!

So far, the only pictures I've got of the GPZ, are from the ebay listing and the seller took some pretty good ones at that. So, don't go getting excited when you see the tailend of the other Kawa, which is a 900! It's still his, I got the GPZ from him and he's still got 3 or 4 90p0 - 100 Kawa fours left! Might say that he's a fanatic!B) I'll post the other pictures that I have, soon and Biggest thing I'm gonna do to the GPZ, is Keep her in shape, Ride and see about giving her a fresh look, this winter. That's original paint and the clear coat is starting to bubble along with a few scratches showing. Just gonna detail it out basically. Didn't have a centerstand when I got it, so I got one from ebay, just for maintenance, cause I know the stand can't be mounted and raised with that Kerker on there. I did get a battery tender and a new set of tapered steering head bearings cause he said that the ones in the bike seemed to feel like there might be a flat spot on one (or more) roller(s).

Later on, Bill;)
