Me & my new Girl 1976 KZ750
16 Aug 2009 09:23
Hi everyone. I stumbled across this site trying to gleam all the info for my new project, I think I will spend alot of time here. Just 2 weeks ago I got my new bike shes a 1976 KZ750. I don't know if it runs yet and was pretty excited when I got it, but I'm getting kind of discouraged. Most of the parts are supposed to be in some box, but the genious didnt have wiring harness.I'm having fun with that.
I just got 2 more bikes for the harness alone (different models) . I really want to get her going though! I forgot to mention basically it was frame, motor, wheels, handlebars. The rest is in boxes. I hope I havent bitten off more then I can chew, the only thing that keeps me going on it is thinking of being able to ride down the road knowing I am the one that made her run! Heres a pic of right before I loaded her to take to her new home. Its okay if my bike is a girl for now right? For now her name is Katy the KZ. She may have a name and gender change when all done.
Thanks for a great site and any input is GREATLY appreciated

If you feel up to it, making a custom wire harness could get all the bikes running.
www.easternbeaver.com and www.vintageconections.com sell the connectors, crimpers and metal pins for the connectors.
I still have not found a source for the striped, colored wires Kawasaki used in their bikes.

If you're still looking for a harness you could try
www.oldkawman.com
. I got a harness from him a little while ago for one of my bikes, he's a bit expensive, slow on shipping and the stuff wasn't as good as he said but it can be worth it if you'd rather not make your own harness.
Good luck with the 750, they're good bikes. Not too fast but sturdy and torquey
