Hello from Bulgaria
13 Aug 2009 01:52 - 13 Aug 2009 01:54
hi dudes,
just want to say Hi to everybody![:cheer: :cheer:](/media/kunena/emoticons/10.png)
I just bought a KZ 650-B02 but on the side cover writes Z650 it's strange because it is 1978 bike...
here it is:
it have some remark's, but runs like a charm, actualy it start's to run after 120 km/h :woohoo:
can you give me advice, after 20-30 km ride, oil light start's to flash on idle speed /even 1500rpm/ it stops around 1800rpm. I measure Oil pressure when engin is warmed is OK, oil is 15W50 with new oil/air filter... is it possible to overheat the engine?
Best Regards
Krasi

Welcome Krasi...nice to see other older Kawasaki's from others parts of the world. Do you know where your bike was imported from? I am guessing that it was originally from western Europe (Germany, France, etc.) before it found you.

Hi Krasi. Nice 650.
Regarding the light, the best way to know is to get a real pressure gauge on it and see what the pressure is. The electronic sender located under the points cover can fail and give a false indication. The cheap fix is to rob a sender from a bike in the junk yard and see if the light comes on as before.
I'm guessing you have heavy enough oil, maybe too heavy, but that would seem to cause the light to come on when the engine is cold. I've seen electronic senders fail once they get hot on other engines so I'm guessing that is your most likely source of the problem but knowing the actual pressure will give you piece of mind.
Good luck!

thank's for warm welcome ![:) :)](/media/kunena/emoticons/8.png)
Michael the sales man says that tha bike is imported from Italy and is on 32k km...
Nate, I'll try with other gauge /this one I've made from old oil pressure meter from car
nut wokr's fine / the light comes only after 20-30 km ride.... in service manual says that oil pressure 4000rpm @ 90 degrees oil temperature /i think that temperature is higher/ has to be 2.0-2.5 kg/cm2 (28-30 psi) it is around 28psi...
I'll chek oil pressure switch
cheers
