new rider in michigan

Hello all,
I have just acquired a newly rebuilt 1980 Kawasaki kz 1000LTD, and am looking forward to riding it soon. I am somewhat of a new rider and actually was looking at getting a new ninja zx6 until i sat down on my kz1000 and fell in love with the feel of the bike. Also the price didn't hurt either, $700.00 family discount from my uncle, a motorcycle mechanic himself. As i understand there are custom headers and exhaust on the bike and the carbs were just rebuilt 100 miles ago. The bike runs like a top now.

I came upon your site while searching for a case cover on the internet and figured why not join up. I'm looking forward to learning many new things about my bike and hopefully will have some pictures of her up soon.
