I am katman. "katman" cuz I build custom oldschool katanas (1982/83)
I have always loved the old kz's. Well I finally got my hands on a '77 kz1000 and searched for a good forum.

My first bike back in '79 was a '74 H1 500 triple.

I found you guys. My plan is complete rebuild/custom just like my kats. In my oppinion these bikes are legends, and still rock today.

The plan is to stretch it, update suspension, brace the frame some, pretty up everything so magazines world wide will want to write articles about it......... Oh my, I am getting just a little enthusiastic. Can't help it, love these bikes.

Lookin forward to a great build and getting lots of ideas and info from you fine folks here.

Welcome to KZR katman! Lot of great people and info here. Lots of guys from BC too. I live in Nelson BC, 7 hrs. east of you. Good luck with your bike.

Welcome katman...I remember looking at the big Katana in 1982 on the showroom floor... there was something compelling about it then (still is)...I liked it but I had just bought a new 1982 GPz1100...but I'd still like one
