hey everyone...another first timer here. i picked up a non running 82 kz750 ltd from an auction in hopes that i could get lucky and get her to run (while learning). i've got the head cleaned and the valves relapped...but somehow i managed to miss a broken piston ring on my end cylinder...now im not for certain if the broken piece is in the case or not and like i said before this is from an auction so i don't know if/who has gone through this thing before me. its kind of weird because there doesn't seem to be any damage to the cylinder wall like you would expect from having a broken ring. anyways....i'm having trouble finding a new piston ring for it, and at the same time wondering if anyone knows of any running 750 motors out there for sale for a decent price. Any help would be much appreciated as i've been trying not to let this get out of hand and i dont want to let this project die, but in the end a poor college kid has to do what he has to do.
