Hey there . From bc canada , still looking for my first bike . have a buddy who has started rebuilding a 78 KZ 650 , and have read some info on them and they seem like a good choice for me as well .
Great site . i will keep you all posted of my progress .

1974 Z1 with a MKII And a 1105 big bore kit 10.5 to 1 comp. Andrews 2x cams ported head dyna s with green coils V&H sidewinder pipe airshifter 4in.over arm

Where in BC are you? You could always come down south and find a bike. Plenty of them in Seattle or Spokane.

Just outside Vancouver . I have a lead on a free complete bike , but has not been running in a few yrs.

Look on the Seattle and Portland Craigslist. There are a few on there. I'm not sure how hard it would be to get it registered up there.

The free one and a decent runner would be the best. Then you can work on the dead one and then sell the runner when you are done. That way you have a bike to ride without the down time. Just my .02. Good luck with the search! If you ever feel like a road trip, check out California. It seems 650's show up in Northern California a lot on craigslist.
