thought I'd share my KZ

She's a 79 650C, been my daily rider for almost 10 years, and gone through more changes that I can remember. When I got it she was bone stock with 15,000 on her a guarge queen untill her owner got a Harley and lost interest, Was origionally blue with amazing pinstriping, but that changed when I was offered $1000 for the tins. I had another set from another project so I painted her and off I went. She was Orange and shiney untill last year when I droped her due to slick Seattle roads and a 16 year old driver who decided he would pull out infront of me. Now she's more of a rat rod Oh well what do you think?

Nice. Are those relections or does it have a weird (I mean that in a good way) spatter/scuff, redish orange paint job done on the fender and tank? Either way, it looks nice. Still in Seattle?

I've had as many as 12 bikes at once (only have 2 now the 650 and an 82 KZ1000 CSR) and for the sure fun and bullet proofness of this bike it is my true love when it comes to riding, I wouldn't take it on a road trip but for daily riding I have yet to find a better bike.

She looks this way now because the bars took off a lot of paint and dented the tank when I droped her. I had to primer the tank to prevent rusting and have yet to do anything else to it the orange is poking through because I'm a horrable painter. I kind of like the rat rod look so I kind of left it that way. and yes those are reflective 3M tape I was starting to feel invisable at night so I stuck that stuff on there I don;t know if it does anything but it makes me feel a little better

I think you know you've got a great bike there.
Having riden a variety of other bikes, you say "it is my true love when it comes to riding".
I've only had a few bikes over the years, but have held onto my 650 as I'm love it as well.

Have a look at the 650 info site in my signature. Lots of kz650 stats etc there.

The scaped off orange look is cool as hell from the zoomed in pic I looked at. It has a NW rockabilly characteristic about it that's for sure. Very cool.

I like the bare primer showing through, dirty header wrap, road warrior KZ look.
