Howdy KZ750B
01 Jul 2009 11:08
Hi, my name is John. I live in Kansas City Kansas. I'm mid 50ish and work at the USPS as a mechanic. Currently I own an '87 Concours, a '79 KZ750B, a '79 Yamaha XS750F, and a '74 BMW R90/6. The Yamaha and the Beemer are long term projects, the Connie is my goto bike, and I just brought home the KZ750.

Yea it looks ok, and that's the thing you got to watch out for. The tires are all dry rotted, which leads to the sprockets and chain, which are wasted. Those rims aren't right either. I think that should be an 18 inch on the rear.

The rear shocks are marked 91 ZR550. Bike Bandit shows the same part no. for the 90 - 92 ZR 550 and 750. The springs in the front forks are not the same length. Ordering a set of Progressive from D Kirk. Sprockets and chain still not in.

All righty then, I've changed out the rear wheel for a spoke unit, new tires, sprockets and chain, Progressive springs and fork oil in the forks. I rode it around the block a couple of times. In the morning I'm going to get some Seafoam in the gas and go for a long ride.

Well what's cooking. I have kept plugging away on the KZ750B and it's starting to turn into a very nice bike. You can look
here
to see the progress I've made.
