Hello,
New member looking at a KZ900 now to purchase, would appreciate any tips on what to look out for and values? this bike is at Johnys vintage motorcycles in wadworth Ohio.

I don't know if you are local or not, but I only live about 20 min. or so from Johnny's and have known him for 25+ years. If you need someone to eyeball the bike for you before spending $ over the net I'd be happy to do that for you.

That is very kind of you sir, I am in SE Michigan, and i am planning on visiting Johnny for a test ride this week, he sounded very open and honest over the phone, i was really just trying to get a check, , I am planning on riding this fairly soon on a couple of long trips, cosmetics are not that important now, but I want to make sure that I have covered all mechanicals before I buy and set off on a long trip.

Although I have never purchased a motorcycle from Johnny's, I have purchased a number of parts from him via eBay...I have always been impressed with the quality of material he sells.

I am very gratefull to all of you for great advice, i look forward to buying the bike and joining the forum for some good fun.

If the bike you are looking at is the brown one on his website it looks pretty nice. I can tell you this about Johnny's, he has a Japanese guy named Hilo for a mechanic and he does nice work. If Hilo has gone over the bike (which I'm sure he has) it will be right mechanically.

I'd have to agree with Mcdroid and trianglelaguna when it comes to parts Johnny has good quality stuff, he never gives it away, you will always pay top buck but he has good stuff and lots of it.

Yes it is the brown one, i would be happy to pay top price if it comes with honesty and integrity, and it sounds like that is how he works. I am looking forward to the trip and meeting him and his team.
I will take some pictures at the shop and post.
