Hello
20 Jun 2009 00:54 - 20 Jun 2009 00:56
I just picked up a wrecked 82' kz550 for a little super moto project of mine. All i got was a bent frame and an engine. I spent all week hunting down all the parts i need to get her up and running. From what i have read this is a reliable little engine which is exactly what i looking for. She only has 9,100 miles on her so i hope to have her power my yz frame for a few years to come.
^just after i got her home
^a couple hours later
^putting in this....it would cost the same to fix the yz125 engine so i figured i would rather put something else in its place :side:
I checked the valve clearance tonight and got .004" on the exhaust side and .003" on the intake side. For this season that should be good enough since i dont plan on having her done in time except for maybe a couple months before winter hits.

Welcome Nelson8708...I'd be interested to see if this works...that 550 motor weighs much more than that YZ motor and will radically change many handling characteristics. There are a number of 550 owners on this site so they should be able to assist you
