just bought a 81'kz1100

HI

my name is ted i am new here i already put a post under engines,i picked up an 81'KZ1100 it is a pretty clean bike got the bike home put a new battery in it,took the carbs off to rebuild them this bike has been in garage for a little while,has good compression 118 to 122# in all cylinders,now the bad the tranny will go into 1st and nuetral but will not shift into any up gears,i took the side cover off and cannot visually see anything wrong i sure hope the case don't need to be split,i would like to know where to buy complete rebuild kits for the carbs to,
any help will be appreciated

Hi Ted and welcome to the site Your output shaft has to be turning to get your bike to go into 2nd. gear. Sitting still it will only go into 1st. and neutral. Also check here for carb. kits. www.z1enterprises.com/
