Newbie KZ 550 question

Hello All,

One of the bikes I'm looking at is a KZ550. The seller tells me that it's a '78 model but the latest reviews/pics I've found are of the 1980 model. Is there really such a thing as a 1978 KZ550 or is this guy ill-informed?

The history I have says the 500 appeared in 1979, the first 550 in 1980.
