hello everyone,i,m a new member.started riding 2 yrs ago.purchased a very clean low mile 1981 kz650 csr and was wondering what "csr"stands for.still waiting for weather to change (chicago/milwaukee area).met a nice group at a local "famous dave,s" for a meet & eat once a week.hope it starts again soon.also had a great ride in a local purple hearts/vet poker run,look forward to it again.

welcome to our nightmare i never really questioned the csr logo thing but i think it stands for cruiser or something like that i'm sure someone on hear will have the real answer for you soon enough their is a very knowledgeable bunch of people on here. so if you ever have any problems don't be afraid to ask you will get answers if it is at all possible.

I'm not sure "CSR" stood for anything at all. We can presume that "Ltd" stood for "Limited" but they're anything but limited as they're everywhere.

The CSR models were sold as a "cheaper" version of the Ltd models with wire spoke wheels and maybe a couple of other cosmetic differences besides the badging.

It's possible that those designations originated with Kawasaki Motors USA, but I've never seen that confirmed or what the back story was. Still a mystery to me.
