Newbie...in the CLE! was created by ntoney10
Hey everyone! I'm a 21 year old in Cleveland, Ohio! There are currently two inches of snow on the ground here! I am going to pick up my second KZ today! I previously had an '81 KZ440 LTD but had to sell it for personal reasons...(aka parents). But now I'm out of the house for real, and I'm buying a '76 KZ750 B1 basket case. I have never done anything like this before, the 440 was complete when I bought it...I feel that I'm fairly mechanically inclined and patient. It only has 17XXX miles on it! It has good compression and turns over so it's going to be a big jig saw puzzle...I am sure I am going to need some parts, carbs for sure...and A LOT of help! I'm excited for this undertaking and hope to have her ready to ride by July.

welcome to you and you never gave a year when you will be done that is a smart thing!!!! just use that july thing it works. seriously you are about to tackle a major job so before you do anything else get a factory service manual you will need it for proper cable and wie routing as well as proper assembly instructions and be prepared for lots of time consuming work and frustration when that does happen remember you are dealing with a thirty year old machine sit back and relax and take stock of everything you will need and work on getting these things but don't wait for these things get cracking on the rest of the bike and before you know it you will be up and riding. good-luck and most of all have fun with it. and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Welcome ntoney10! I wish I could find a basket 750B model...as if I don't have enough to do already  Search eBay for a genuine Kawasaki shop manual for your scooter...well worth the wait!

Welcome! I'm about 30 miles East of Cleveland in Painesville. Glad to see another hometown member on board. I now what you mean about the snow! Good old Lake Affect. Hopefully it'll melt soon. Those warm-climate members just don't understand what we go through. :)

Good luck with the project. My good friend has a 76 750 twin, so I'd be glad to look at his and send pics if you need them. Too bad he's afraid of computers or he'd be a member!

I, like Gringo, live in Akron near the university. We need to all get together at QSL in Independence something this summer.

79MKII, my father-in-law lives in Madison so I'm up your way about once a month.

Cool! I'm only about 10 min from Madison. It would be great to get a bunch of KZ's together this summer.
