Another newbie from So-cal

Hello everyone!
I've been using this site for about a week now and you guys have answered so many of my questions. I have been refurbishing a 79 KZ650csr and it has been alot of fun so far, but now I'm to all the technical stuff and I have been glued to this site for days now gathering priceless information. you guys are the best.
Once I get this thing on the road I would also like to find a group to ride with.

you have come to the right place. There are almost a dozen of us here is sunny So. Cal, we meet up a couple of times a year. Keep us informed of your progress, and check in often to see about scheduled group rides. We are trying to put together a ride for this weekend up to the Rock Store but the details are not firm yet.
You do know that you are required to post pics of your ride--regardless of its current condition???

Thanks Mark and Wagonmaster! I'm really trying I want to ride this thing! I've had this bike for about 2 months and she's come along way but now I have carburetor issues to deal with. These things are really complicated! Hopefully I can bring her to life really soon. For now I will keep on reading all the keen info on this site.

Isn't that the D model ? I think it had the crossover pipes and chrohe rear fender also.

Yeah when I picked it up it had A horrible rack on the back, and some crazy bars, oh and some HD saddle bags! She was super ugly. No chrome fenders, I shortened the back of the front fender and removed the strut brace. Then cut the back of the rear fender and tucked it back in there, and removed the right side turn signal tab, I kept the left side to mount my license plate and brake light (side mount) I am still trying to figure out which tail light to use. Maybe an old ford one or some kind of LED. I have some time to figure it out being my carbs have big time issues, that may take some time to figure out. I have some carburetor questions, but I don't want to break the rules here so I will ask it in the proper forum. Has anyone ever seen a 120 and 17.5 jets in a 650? This thing runs way to rich!
