Hi! I have a kz550 and would like to hear from fellow South-Africans. My bike has only lived 1 day since I bought it. Cannot get spares over here.

first things first welcome , now to your problem what happened and please give us a detail account of what happened there is a lot of help around here but we have to know the symptoms first.

I bought the bike as a project. The carbs caught fire through piston no. 4. Upon inspection the little plate on the choke slider came off, coming to rest between the valves. Valves are o.k., but piston 4's rings were sticky. Got 2 rings right, but broke the last one.

Cant find any parts in SA. Tried all over. I am even willing to import a complete engine and carb set.

look in the classified section of the web site and see what is available you might find something in there good luck.
