New member and new rider
22 Feb 2009 22:11
Hello everyone,
My name is Ron Brooks from north Texas. I am a new not only to this website but motorcycles as well. I was looking for one that I could fix up and found a 1981 Kawazaki 750 LTD model number KZ750H2. It apparently sat in a garage for 5 years after the owner died and I am now in the process of slowly bringing it back to life. any help on this project or on riding in general will be greatly appreciated. I will post pictures as soon as I learn how my first attempts seem to only show a red X when I preview them.

Welcome Ron. There are a lot of members in Texas but I hear it's a big state so how close you are could be relative. Change the oil, charge the battery and put in a set of plugs and you should be good to go. BTW the only thing you should have to worry about is the carbs and you happen to have the best carb guy in the country somewhere there in Texas. Look up wgcarbs.com.

I actually have the carbs off right now for cleaning and hope to have this bike started and running by this weekend. i will still need tires and tune up stuff but I just can't wait to hear the bike running.
By the way, any tips on getting pictures to show up as more than red X's?

Since you're new to riding, please enroll yourself in the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Beginning Rider Course. It is approximately 20 hours of classroom instruction and range instruction/practice. It will go a long way toward giving you a basic set of skills and attitude critical to surviving on the street.
That said, welcome aboard and I don't think that uploaded pics will show in the preview.

The pictures are on my external hard drive. I have the ability to change their size and formats but nothing seems to be working.

I am actually looking into a course at the local collage here for beginer bikers. I was just wanting to get this bike started and working before I started the course so I could take what I learn and put it to use right away.
As far as the pics go I saw where others had posted pics of their bikes and i was just wanting to do the same.
