bad day
25 Feb 2006 13:09
I've recently got a beautiful 1979 KZ650SR. I love it, it's the perfect bike for me. I laid it down today in one of my least intellegent moves of all time and am feeling very very unhappy about it. Thankfully the only damage was to the cosmetics and my pride. I snapped off my rear left hand turn indicator as well as the speedometer, which now just kind of hangs. Has anyone repaired this kind of damage before? I need to get a manual as well as a replacement for the turn signal. Where should I start looking to make my bike beautiful again?

Welcome Craig.
Sorry to hear about the mishap. I've been down a few times myself.
You can get parts here in the Classifieds section, ebay or just ask away in this post for what you need. I myself have a mount for the Speedo and Tach if that's what you need.

post a picture so we can see whats broke.id be willing to bet everybody has laid a bike down at some point,if they havent theyre either full of it or not trying hard enough! but have no fear ive crashed and burned on several occassions so ive got plenty to go around!:woohoo: its usually the excessive horsepower to brain cell ratio that gets me in trouble!goodluck, happy wrenching!

I might have a left rear signal, let me check.
No I don't have a stem, just the blinker housing and lens. Check your personal messages, something else to look at.

25 Feb 2006 22:06I think I could use the speedo mount. Anythoughts on that headlight. Nightriding gives me a geat view of the treetops.

Craig, Is the trim ring the only part busted in the headlight assembly? How is the bucket/shell and the head lamp mount?
'Cuz I got a trim ring, I can ship with the blinker ? Has a few scratches but nothing compared to what you have. If you want it say so.

Craig,
I asked my wife to send out the blinker and trim ring today.
Hope you can use them.
