Hey guys
01 Dec 2008 17:59 - 01 Dec 2008 18:02
Hope there is a later model contingency here for me and my beloved '84 GPz1100-A2!
Would you believe I acquired this bike 10 yrs ago, rode it once, and it died enroute (pumped oil out of crankcase vent as I recall)to my buddies, so I pushed it about 2-3 miles to his house. I got it home where I put a wiseco 1168 kit on it and had the head ported a little. Put it back together but it wouldn't fire up. I think I had the cams backwards (same cam In & Ex), and my Clymer was confusing or wrong. Shelved it to move on to one of my CBX's which I was hot for at the time.
Did the same thing to my CBX, wiseco, ported heads, cams, carbs, pipe, and again wouldn't fire. Shelved it about 10 yrs, bought a 'Busa.
8 yrs later missed the vintage bikes, so I got the (4) cams right on the CBX. Sold the 'Busa. Now I'm back onto the Kawi. Replaced some bent valves and it fired right up (after some cleaning, purging, & testing, etc). Got to love that DFI! I hope to get some feed back on how to tweak an A2 DFI here.
My GPz is a mess, and needs to be completely repainted. I'm finishing the mechanicals first. Might be done this month with any luck.
I remember it was between a red GPz back, and my '83 GS1100ES, which I bought instead, cause it was cheaper. Loved both bikes, now I have them both.

James, welcome to KZR. That's quite a nice collection you've got there. I've always wanted one of those later GS1100s, you lucky dog. ![B) B)](/media/kunena/emoticons/1.png)
