I've been coming to the site for a month or so reading threads and I'm glad there are a lot of knowledgeable people here. I recently bought a 1980 KZ1000E after being out of bikes for about 18 years or so.

I'm going to have a lot of questions, I don't have a lot of experience working on bikes (more so on muscle cars) but I'm planning on doing a few things to this one.

Mine is actually in the shop being re-jetted and having a V & H pipe put on right now. My stock exhaust was pretty nice still. Is it worth selling that on ebay or should I keep it in case I ever decide to sell the bike? I know there are a lot of "purists" that would probably want it were they to buy the bike. It just is not in my nature to buy something and leave it alone though.

Welcome to KZR!
Hang onto that stock exhaust system for a while, before you decide to part with it...you never know, you might want to reinstall it one day.I doubt it,but you never know.
That, plus with new laws, the "Boys" might make you run the factory exhaust system,if that applies to where you live.B)

Listen to Sandy...keep the original pipe and store it to minimize wear/rust. If you ever decide to sell, then refit the bike with OEM stuff = increased value...if you decide to go with individual filter pods instead of the airbox, save that also!..and welcome home.

I will keep it, thanks for the responses. It actually looks pretty good for a bike with 45k on it. I have already switched to pods.....but like a moron I left the box on top of a cardboard box that was trash and someone confused the airbox for trash. I was not happy.
