Hey Guys,
I am 31 years old have a beautiful wife and daughter an just love my kz. Which is kinda odd because she still isn't ready for the road. I bought 'er in May 2008 knowing she needed a little work:dry: but I didn't know she needed as much as it did:ohmy: . Here's a short list; Carb rebuild and adjust $480.00, Bearings and bushings $200.00, tank clean and liner $130.00, air filters $160.00. and new chain and both sprokets $100.00  . Well after a dry summer it sat for a while but things are picking up again so I should have it on the road real soon. I am looking forward to talking to you guys about our bikes. Thanks for looking and thanks for the site!:woohoo:

My first big Kawasaki was a 77 KZ1000 I kept untill I traded it in on a 82 GPZ1100 B2 model(still have it and am doing some wiring mods to it) They are strong engines but keep in mind about the valve lash as this design like to be noisy and when they get quiet it's time to check the valves.

Welcome to the site. I've got the same bike. The money you have put into your bike so far is chump change.:) Pretty soon you will put on a nice new shiny part, then the part next to it won't look as nice any more. All of the sudden you will have a folder overflowing with receipts.:)

KZ900's are sweet. Enjoy your bike.

thadley:
Welcome to the site!
How are you fixed for Shop Manuals? I have the Kaw Shop Manual for KZ900 on CD (pdf files). It's a copy of a copy, but it's legible with lots of pics and scematics. If you send me a PM with a mailing address, I'll drop one in the mail. My treat. Some think that Clymers is a better manual, but this one's worth having, especially at the price (free!).
Let me know...
and Ride Safe!
