hey, my name is andy, new to the site and pretty new to bikes. i was recently given an 81 440 ltd. the bike runs ok, and i have put a couple hundred miles on it. i know there are a few things it needs, such as tires, fork seals, and carb boots. i have already added pod filters and it runs ok with them. i have it almost completely torn down in my garage now, and as it goes back together i am going to try some custom things, like drag bars, custom pipes and blacking out most of the chrome. i have a lot of questions about the bike, but i will start new threads in the proper forums. thanks!!

Welcome Andy...get out while you have a chance...you'll start with one bike, then stumble over another at a great price, then you'll have two...then the sickness has a grip on you...then it's too late. you'll have new friends, spend time on eBay at 0400 hrs, log on to KZR at work, neglect your family...it's awful.

yah i hear you, i just picked up another one yesterday! another 440 ltd with 1800 miles. unfortunately it sat outside for atleast a year. it was gonna be mostly for parts, but i got it to run on carb cleaner rather easily, so i dunno what im gonna do with it now.
