gas tank needed '82 KZ1000

Hey guys,

New to the forum, but I've heard great recommendations about the community here. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I'm looking to help out my uncle who has an '82 KZ1000. His bike needs a new gas tank, and he's stuck in the middle of nowhere Saskatchewan.

Can anyone help me out with where I might be able to find a tank? I've looked on ebay and couldn't find anything; and google has been too unwieldy to give me any help.

So, if you know if someone that has a tank, or if you have one, or if you're good at searching for them and have some time to help, please do.

OldKawMan may have one but your best bet is to develop patience and become one with the eBay God...what you need will eventually appear there...it just takes time.

Just wondering if possible restoration of present tank might be at all feasible. For example, am unaware of whether tank is missing altogether, or severely collision damaged, or rusted inside, or rusted completely through, or has a seam leaking, or some pinhole leaks - - - or bullet holes :woohoo: .

I wish I knew. At this point, all I know is that he's told me he needs a new one. This is a guy with a lot going on in his life and I am trying to do something nice for him.
