Total Noob

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forums/motorcycle riding/kz's in general.

I just bought my first motorcycle about 3 weeks ago (a 1978 KZ 650) with only 22000kms on it for what I think was a steal of a deal at only $750 bucks. And so far I am having a total blast with it.

I will probibly be on here asking for help with maintance on the bike, as the previous owner I don't think did a very good job maintaining it in general. As evidanced by the new spedometer cable that he installed, that fell off on the highway as a result of him installing it backwards. hahaha.

It needs to be buffed up to get rid of most of the surface rust that has acumulated on the chrome parts, but other then that I'm pretty happy with how it is running mechanically.

Welcome to the group, you'll find quite a few kz650 owners here. Looks like you have a nice winter project to get her looking tip-top. It's always great to have the bike running well and not have to deal with a bunch of mechanical issues (yet).

Funny how some people can find kz650's and others just crab about not having one

I'm assuming Canada,with the odometer in kilometers??
