Hello to all you Zedders Stateside.
I am a member of the Z1 Owners Club of Great Britain and one of our members pointed out your site.
My bike is a KZ1000A1 and was imported from the US in 1997. All the european bikes rusted away years ago so we have to come shopping in your country.
Anyway, I have converted it to UK spec and now have the bike I always wanted.

Chris.

Beautiful Bike Chris. What did you have to do to convert it to UK specs?

Many thanks, glad you think so.
I got a new seat, although if the seat`s good a strap is all that is required. Black lower clock shrouds, headlight pointing the other way, removal of the frame mounted reflectors, dual front disc brake and modified master cylinder to 5/8". The rear mudguard (which is much longer) and lamp bracket as well as a reflector below the license plate.
These parts are quite rare but still possible to find. In all the conversion cost about $2000 plus the $5000 I paid for the bike in the first place. It is worth $7000 here but as always it would depend on finding the buyer that wanted it at that price. I don`t want to sell though. I waited thirty years to get it.

Be great to see pictures of your A1`s.
I will hope to get another some time soon and modify to my taste.
Standard or modified you cannot beat an aircooled Kwak.
