new hew(and to bikes) from ohio

well....i would like to say hello to all the guy's/gal's here!i just bought my first bike ever and it just happens to be a 1982 kawasaki1000 p1a(also ex-state trooper bike)and i cant find no info on it!i'm here to learn more about bikes and meet ppl in my area that might be able to help my with the repairs to it,and make new friends

You picked out a big, powerful bike for your first one.
Most will recommend a Motorcyle Safety Course (good advice). Also, spend some time on some empty roads to get the feel of the bike. And most of all, EASY DOES IT. That bike will leave you behind if you're not hanging on tight.

i know that it is alittle bit to big for a first bike but i kinda got stuck with it(not complaining)!!!and i couldnt beat the price i paid for it!but i aint gonna be able to ride it til next summer whice is fine with me!thanks for the advice but i think after i get it fixed up and put back together i am gonna trade it for something smaller or sell it if some one makes a good offer
