New again was created by dreddy
Well, I joined up some time ago when I was doing a little research on my KZ200. That project kept getting sidelined (I want to make a little cafe racer), while my friends kept riding. Last week I saw a good deal and went for it.

I am now the new owner of a '77 KZ1000 B1 (I think, seems to match). Very excited about this new ride. It's going to need an overhaul through the winter, but next spring she should be purring like a huge kitten.

Not a lot of docs on this bike, anything that's good to know from owners' experiences?

If you haven't already done so, buy a genuine Kawasaki shop manual for your bike...it will address many of those questions that will pop up over the fall and winter:)

Welcome!
Sounds like you have the LTD model. That bike's got a good motor, are you sure it needs an overhaul?

ltdrider: it's not the LTD model, and the motor is good, but it's seeping from every gasket. I will want to replace them all.

I have the manual for my KZ200, but the seller has promised me the manual for this one. If not, I'll definitely get it.

Lastly, here are pics. I think it looks awesome:
