Hey all.

I recently purchased a 1980 KZ250 LTD as my first bike. I wanted to get something small and inexpensive to start with before I upgrade to something newer/bigger. I have a handful of questions about the bike and will be posting them in the tech forums.

From your avitar I love the colour. Can we have some pictures?

Hey, thanks for the welcome. I do have more pics, but need to get them from the camera to the laptop (not hard...just being lazy). Where is the best place to post them anyway? I'm still getting used to the navigation of the site.

Anyway, I added the signature as you suggested. Thanks for the pointer!

Thanks,

Clutch

This shows the scratches on the gas tank. I am considering sanding it down and repainting it (possibly another color). You can also see that the headlight bracket is a little bent up. Other than that, there is no other damage on the bike!

LOL! Not yet. I've only had the bike for about five days, so I haven't even switched the title over or gotten it registered yet. I've just been putting around the neighborhood getting a feel for it and trying to see if there were any issues. I think so far I've put about 15 miles on it though.

Just as a little update...I got my tags today. I went with historic plates to avoid inspection since the chain guard wont fit with the current rear tire (any comments there?). I will be taking it out on the road for the first time out of the neighborhood this weekend! :)

Just an update on the mileage. I've gone about 74 miles since filling the tank the other day. It's hard to tell how much gas is left in their, but I do only have a 2.1 gallon tank. I'm going to only ride in the neighborhood for now(in case I run out) so I can get a fairly accurate gas mileage estimate.

Quick update: 83 miles, still plentyof gas left in the tank. Not 100% sure if I am set on reserve or on as far as the petcock goes. Check out my post "A tricky petcock question" and maybe you can help me figure it out!
