hello my name is tavon i reside in md just taken ownership about a month ago of a 83 kz550 ltd its a neat bike imo i currntly have a starting issue that i have posted in the carburetor section of this site entitled choke so if you guys can offer some help i would appreciate. thanks

Hi Tevon, and welcome to the forum! I think we have the exact same bike. Mine sat in a storage shed with 1995 plates on it until I got it in the fall of 2003. The 550's are great bikes. Just the nicest all-round bikes to own and ride. I especially like it's CV carbs, shaft drive, 6 spd transmission, electronic ignition, 10,000 RPM redline, reliability, pep, power and pickup, and fuel economy. I sometimes ride it with a group of Harleys and my only problem is trying not to run over them when passing cars on the highway! Motorcyclist review said - "When it appeared in 1980 the KZ550 was the first of the really potent middleweights . They are light, quick, smooth and cheap to ride." Best of luck with yours!
