Hello all, steve, Im running a 3k mile 73 kw z1 900. its in good shape but have never been just gitty about the high CG riding. have been on the fence about cutting it. but the purist in me tends to lean on leaving it stock. the only change on it is a corbin seat as of now. How rare is this bike and what value may i be thowing away in a chop?? any info?? thanks steve

NO!! Don't do it:woohoo: :woohoo:

Did you see the one go for 20k+! That one was very nice but even at that i would not cut yours. Find a different bike to do that to.

I'm sure most here will tell you to leave it alone.

post some pics of your bike please.

At this point in the game chopping that bike would be like painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa. Don't do it.

There are about 15 thousand members on this site that will double your investment of $300 just to take her off your hands (myself included)

Please don't do it. Buy a more common year/model is you want to chop something. My $.02 worth, but I like to keep things original.:)

That bike needs to be lovingly restored to showroom condition. Get a later, more common model to hack.

A '73 Z1 is NOT the bike to cut up. It's a grand old bike that most of us would give our first born to own. If you don't want it as is, why not sell it to a good home, and use the $$ (it should fetch some serious gelt), to buy a project. Or two or three.

Buy a KZ and cut it up !!! Unless it's a 1976 900 LTD.
KZ's are a dime a dozen ( sorry guys ) for projects.
Sell ME the 1973 Z1, I'll triple your money.

1974 900 Z1 modified to look like a LTD , some engine mods. But I still have all the original parts.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!! For the love of all that is sacred to zedheads everywhere dont do it. If you want something to chop up I'll trade you 4 Honda CB 750's for it and you can chop to your hearts desire. Hell one is already chopped.(no offense to you 750 four lovers out there.) Besides I could use another Z1 in my collection of dust collectors.
