hello was created by cutmesomeslackjk
my name is chris
i own a 1976 kz 900 that was left to me when my dad passed away. I ride dirt bikes/fourwheelers all of the time but this was the very first motorcycle i had ever drove. here is whats done to it.
4 in. extended swingarm
4 into 1 header w/ megaphone
its right at 1200cc with the 900 bottom end
gears in tranny cut
everything in head is brand new
used to have nitrous on it but its gone now

it will break traction in 3rd

but i think i am going to sell it to help out my mom
:(

but the good news it i am getting another bike
before my dad passed away he found a 1981 gs1100g that was in perfect shape and had new tires and accell coils on it but it would not start. he bought the bike for $400 (had title too). well my dad only paid the guy $100 for the bike and was going to finish paying him later on. well after my dad passed the bike just sat in my garage and i never herd anything from the guy. almost a year later i found the guys phone number and called him and told him i could probably sell the bike for him and he told my that if i could sell the bike for 500 he would give me another motorcycle. well i got the bike running sold it for $700 so i got to keep $200. and the bike he is giving me is a 1980 kz 1000 that used to belong to my dad it had a 1974 z1 motor on it, 1075cc kit in it, 4 into 1 header, brand new carbs, fresh paint (candy apple red, everything in head is brand new....and its just setting in his barn because one of the mechanics that was working on it stripped a bolt in the head and quit on it.

i still need to go pick it up but i will post some pics when i do.

im hoping i can get some help on here when i work on it.
(how to get it in time, extending the swingarm, and makeing a new seat for it. (It has the huge king and queen seat on it.))
i would really appreciate it

sorry this was kind of long
but i thought it would be good to explain things

Im glad to be a part of this site because i have read alot of the forms and you all seem like really nice people who could help me

thanks Chris

Welcome, Chris. Sorry for the loss of your Dad.

Like Sandy and Plummen said, you've found the right place. Sounds like you already have a pretty good understanding of these bikes. The guys here will have you up and running in no time! Good luck!:)

So glad to have you here and I'm also glad to see you carrying a family tradition! I love to see Dad's hand their bikes down and their sons (or daughters) enjoying them. I hope that you get to do some riding and whether you decide to keep it or sell to help your mom, you have all my admiration and acknowledgement!!!

Best wishes!!!
