Last Sunday I purchased a 1981 KZ750 LTD I found on craigslist. After making a deal for 1/2 of the asking price I got the title and keys and loaded it in the u-haul bike trailer. This poor thing livved it's 1st12 years of life dressed up like a low budget Goldwing. Later I thought this may have been a good thing. It most likely wasn't driven too hard. The pakage was complete with an 8 track and CB radio with 2 whip antenna to complete the package. It was parked outside uncovered for 15 years after that. When I began to strip all the crap off of it I found a bike cover in one of the boxes!!! I'm it has lost about 5lbs in rust alone from the exhaust since the crossover pipe fell off when I unloaded it. Needless to say the exhaust was trash.
Two of the carbs sliders were stuck beyond repair so a visit to Bates Cycle salvage here in Texas netted me a set of used carbs. The ignition was dead on the inboard cylinders which I quickly found to be the ignitor. After a search on the web I found the GM Module Mod and implemented it on the bike. here is a link to a You Tube Video with some stills of when I 1st got it till the running of it 6 days later.
. If that doesn't work just search KZ750 Rat Bike
I am looking forward to the Rat Bike conversions (which won't require much...LOL) and riding her!

This bike was too far gone for a restoration....so making it a Rat Bike was the obvious choice.

Be sure and send a Thank You note to Loudhvx (a member here), because I'm willing to bet it was either his design or a copy of it that you found :)

He's done some neat designs of stuff that people can build cheap (regulators, ignitors, etc) and helps people here with their electrical problems.
