Hello there everyone!! was created by A3440
I am here as a new member and just three days ago I picked up a 1982 KZ440 A3 for $100. Does it run...not a chance but it will. I am Mike by the way and I hope to make some friends here and hopefully some help with my restoration. Here are some pics of my bike...please don't throw up on your keyboards

Welcome to KZR Mike!
Hey...the price was right, and if you've got the gusto, you'll get er lookin beauty, and running just as good.

Look at the exhaust-pipe in the first pic,and you'll see a glimmer of hope, shining out as if to say,"I CAN and WILL make you proud!"B)

I had my KZ parked for a couple years, under a tarp, and it looked almost like yours...but...lots of determination, hard work, and a love for these ol bikes(oh,and money too,lol)...I now have the KZ that I've been working for.(or close to it)

You'll do it bud.
Lots of guys here with 440's,and lots of help.

Get ready for some polishing...and some repairs!;)

Welcome Mike...just remember, this is always how it starts...just one bike, then they begin to breed in the garage, and your life changes forever...sometimes for the good, sometimes not:laugh:

Welcome, Mike.

Like many others you have found a diamond in the rough. NEVRDULL will help clear away some of the rust so long as it's not pitted through the chrome. Mothers aluminum polish will do wonders on the polished engine cases. A bit of cleaning and it'll be looking much better in short order.

Enjoy!

Hi Mike, welcome to the site. 1982 was a good year, your bike is practically a twin of my except for the number of cylinders. I foresee several hot summer evenings with a rag, Mother's Aluminum polish and some beers. Where do you live?

Thanks everyone. Link14, I live in Largo Florida so you can bet there will be hot, humid summers...it's worth it though...I need to ride again so I will deal with the heat to get the bike going lol.

My motor looked just like your when I got my bike, plus it leaked everywhere.

They do clean up well with enough work...
