Hello all...
New member here looking for some information from the collective mind. I have recently pulled my 1983 KZ1000R2 out of storage. I never get time to use it anymore and it should go to someone who appreciates it, and uses it. It has approximately 9800 miles on it. The bike has always been kept in dry storage and covered. I have removed all the bodywork and am in the process of giving it a good cleaning. I will install a new battery, and clean the carbs. The bike has always been well cared for and not abused. All receipts from 1500 miles and ~1984 when I purchased it. I have not had much luck finding recent sale information, or any others currently for sale to use as a price point. I found an article (see link) indicating that the current values run from $8000-$11000. Can anyone confirm this? Any help would be appreciated. TIA
Anyone who might be interested in purchasing, contact me.

I think your bike is worth keeping!!
I am no expert on rarer bike pricing, so I will only venture a guess, but it does seem like $8000 is way high....
I would humbly estimate 3 to 4....

Hello ELR Rider:
I can confirm those prices...that range in the Motorcycle Classics article is real and I have watched bikes reach those values. The only quibble I might have is that the 1982 (R1) model reaches those values 'quicker' than the 1983 (R2) model and vastly quicker than the 1984 ELR KZ1100R1 model (which appears to be oscillating around the US$4000 mark). The other problem is that although a few folks are willing to fork over that much cash, you have to find those folks when they are actually looking (and you are selling). I have watched several very nice ELR's go unsold on eBay because the right buyer didn't materialize at the right time...not because the bike was overpriced.![:) :)](/media/kunena/emoticons/8.png)
And I failed to add that I'm jealous and am willing to take the bike off your hands using a reasonable monthly payment;)

Great looking bike! I'm not sure on the price, but I wanted to mention that the entire motorcycle is upside down (or is it just the emblems??)

If I had that kind of coin, I'd gladly shell out at least $9K. Which IMHO is about mid-range of what it's worth.
