hey there...just found this community last week and have been impressed by how active and supportive it is. so i'm coming aboard, if that's ok.

i've have a 1978 KZ650 B2 for about 6 years, however it's been laying dormant in a garage [100 miles away from where i live] for the past few. anyway, i'm getting back to riding it now.

this past weekend my father and i went for a short ride to check the bike's health. it was a great ride...until the kz died. i'll be analyzing the problem and post questions in the appropriate forum, but a cursory inspection makes me think the 1,4 coil shorted / melted. [which is on the right side of the bike, oddly enough]

anywho, i'm glad to have found this community and look forward to being able to contribute info at some point.

cheers!
-bt

Hey BT-Don't be fooled by these guys around this enthusiast's board. Most of them don't have a clue of what they are talking about when it comes to old Kz's. In fact I have heard that they make up all of their advice through consulting an Ouji Board. They will tell you all sorts of wrong advice and then when you have totally screwed up your bike, they will send you an email and try to buy it very cheaply from you:)

Seriously, the kzr gang are fantastic!. When you have a question, any question (except the lottery powerball winning numbers for the upcoming draw) they will help more than you can imagine. From tech advice to parts compatibility members will usually respond very quickly.

Don't forget to check out the archives as they are an indispensable resource that can pretty much answer any tech issue you might have...just be sure to have lots of time as the archives can be addictive.
