Hi everyone

Hi guys, I am new here.
I have a question. I have a GPz1100. The GPz's and KZ's are the same right? Because I believe the GPz's are just a special version of the KZ's right? for example, my bike is really a KZ1100 GPz, correct?
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Anyways, I came across a 1982 GPz 1100 for free, but it needs work, and I came here because it seems that people here are pretty knowledgable about these bikes.

Welcome!! This is the right place to ask, these guys will steer you in the right direction. For free?? Im jealous, and im sure i wont be the only one!
In response to your question, I believe its two diffrent animals, although closely related. The GPZ were the later years of the KZ era, but came with hotter cams, oil coolers, in some cases turbos, and the styling was different, with the gpz usually coming with a partial fairing. There are parts that will be compatible with kz's, but they would be to upgrade the KZ most likely if that tells ya anything.. Good luck! Where you from?

Hello danath 34...I'll give you US$200.00 for the bike...sight unseen...think of the immediate profit:laugh:  ...you lucky dog!!...remember the standard line, though, even free bikes end up costing too much. That is true, my friend.
Now, to answer your question, for the early year GPz's, in 1981/1982 GPz = KZ, after 1982 GPz = ZX. For example, your bike (I have one too) is a GPz1100 but the model is KZ1100B2. In 1983, the GPz1100 is a ZX1100A1

Yep, absolutely free, basically it was my friends dad, who had way too much stuff in his garage and just wanted to get rid of it. He has a 2002 ZRX1100 anyways, so he decided he wasnt going to do anything with it. It needs alot though, and I will be making a post about that in another topic in a couple minutes.
