Your bike looks to be an LTD or B model. From looking at the pic I would say you have a 79 model though.

The frame number confirms the year as being a 77 A-1 Looking at the components on the bike it appears to have alot of stuff from a 79 LTD. The wheels and drilled rotors, the dual discs up front, the smaller fuel tank, the stepped seat and the smaller fenders are all LTD. The engine looks to be from a 79 due to the smog head and the later clutch cover.

What is he asking for the scooter? It appears likely that the motor will not match the frame...this is not a factor if you want a decent rider...it will impact the value if you are interested in restoration. It also will impact the value if you are a buyer (in your favor)...i.e the bike is worth considerably less (despite it being a running bike) if it is a 1977 frame with 1979 front end and a 1979 motor, etc.:)

I say go for the freebie. You will regret not getting it in the future. BTW welcome to the site. You will love your Kawi. And we will forgive you for riding a Hardley only because it's a Buell.

I am thankful for the forgiveness I have ridden the new 1125R with the Rotax engine OMG what a really fun and lightning fast motorcycle but that old harley lump in the xb series is probably why I am still riding. The bike has power but not to much and you can not help romping on it. That being said I have a hard time not romping on the KZ I was pleasantly suprised by the healthy amount of power for a 30 year old machine. The bike is a little heavy but quite forgiving and fairly well balanced. It is not to high in the saddle like alot of newer machines. I am now aware that mine did not come original with dual discs but I like the stopping power. Anyway I am very happy with the machine

I find it somewhat amusing that the new Buell (a HD owned company) opted to put out a rompin' stompin' bike (the 1125) and selected Rotax over HD for some serious HP. :woohoo: :woohoo:
