I am a happy new owner of a 82 KZ 550 A1 could be a diff model. I have regretted selling my first bike a 85 GPZ550 and this is the first chance I have had to get a bike in 7 years.

Its got a tear in the seat which im going to get fixed and I plan on giving the whole drive train a check up before I start riding. Other than that I found this site and wanted to say hello.

No pics yet sorry

Welcome to the group dog....(sounds like Randy :S )

Have fun with the drive train. I'm doing the same thing with my '82 KZ750, or I will be once the garage gets above freezing.

Where are you located? Always a good idea to put that in your signature 'cause you never know if there's a fellow KZ'er around the corner to help turn a wrench....or at least hold your beer while you do :P .

Welcome dog! jot down your vin # and go to kawasaki.com.
I believe you go to the "owner information" tab on the left, and punch it in. It will tell you if its an a1-a3, etc.
I have an 82 kz550 a3, stripped down in the garage, determined to get on the road by may.
I have family in VA, im from jersey, so i just might be on the ferry this summer, take a ride down the coast. Ill look you up!
