hi, I just got a kz1000p project bike and am pretty jazzed about working on it. it was on craigs list for $500. so I saved for a few months and when I called the guy back he said his mom wanted it out of her garage today... so I'm thinking discount time . so I asked him how much and he says .. "nothing just come get it".. score.. I almost blewup my truck getting down there. thats it on day one in my profile pic. the last reg was 04 so I fighred what I saved on the purchase I would have to dump on back fees and fines. score again.. its out of the system ,, so from what I;m told there are no back fees...

I was very disappointed when I bought the $75 "shop" manual from the dealer. its a ripoff. it does have more info and better pix than a clymers but not 75 bux worth..its not much bigger than a clymers either.. the guy tells me that its what our shop uses . I don't think so
happy thoughts.. so if anyone in the sacramento area is a good wrench and wants to bid on rebuilding my motor this winter give me a shout at

You could do the motor yourself. All it should need is rings, carb rebuild and the head cleaned up. The only tricky part is getting the cams in right.

donthekawguy,, I thought of doing my own wrenching but this is going to be my main ride.(my gs650 is too small).. so I really need to know that it was done right. got a chance to score another kz1 so that one I will do the motor on so I can take as long as I need.. but this one has to be ready by spring ,, or at least thats my goal. just bought a sportster fat bob fender for the rear on ebay. I have a post about clearance needed if you know please check out that post.
