Seat repair
18 Jan 2006 20:32
My seat on the bike ( not me
has a small split at the seam, about 1 inch. What is recommended to patch, repair and prevent it from growing longer? Should the seat be treated with something on a regular basis? Thanks for any info!

Ran, I take offense to your redirecting me when the intro for your new members says " feel free to ask...." Well I did just ask! Heck , I even donated through Paypal to help keep this site going! Did I make a mistake and should I just bud out and chalk joining this forum an error in my judgement? Maybe I am interpreting your response wrongly, but I fail to find the friendly " Kawasaki Family " feeling in it! See ya and goodbye!

Nah, 1960vw, stick around.
The reason for trying to make sure that questions get posted in the technical forums is that not everyone likes to read the "New Members" forums. Your chances of getting a useful answer are usually much higher in the more popular technical forums.
That, and it makes it easier for people to search the archives for useful stuff if the questions are in the right forums.

Ran's post was completely diplomatic, don't see how someone could take offense to that? Maybe he was just having a bad day. Hope you stick around VW, Chet is right with the search analogy.
Because I worded it wrong. Randy.

In response to the topic, I think SHoe Goo at the ends of the tear would slow it down alot!
I did it too a seat I used to have and it actually sealed the whole rip on the threads.
