New KZ Rider in Saskatoon, Canada

Hi,
I've just bought my 1st bike -- a very nicely restored '76 KZ900. I've never ridden before, so this should be very interesting. You can be sure that I'll be asking all kinds of questions -- especially as it'll be 6 months before I get onto the road. We have only 2 seasons up here -- 6 months of winter and 6 months of tough sledding.

Hi Rod and welcome to KZR. There are lots of friendly folks here and in Saskatoon with tons of background experience and knowledge on KZ's so ask away:)

If you dont mind a word of advice, take one of of those rider courses if you can. I rode years ago then stopped for 20 years before getting back in the saddle agsin and found that a weekend course was a great investment....5 years later I'm still alive :laugh: :laugh:

I agree, take a course in the spring, it will also help with the insurance rates.

Hey-- thanks everyone -- and yes I'll definitely be taking a course in the spring. Hopefully my grey hair means I've learned that I can no longer rely on the three I's of youth (immortality, invincibility, and impotence). Not sure, though, what the last one has to do with motorcycles.
