Back Into Bikes!
04 Nov 2007 11:24
Helllooooo Kawasaki Fans -
After a 17 year hiatus, I'm back into biking. In the day I worked for several Kaw dealers and in 1984 started a dealership with a partner - the economy wasn't helping and investment capital was short, so closed down in 1990 and got out of biking. Spent the next 17 years enjoying the family (two kids and my wife). Kids went off to college, I bugged the wife and we bought a winter project at a local auction. 1984 GPZ 750, mostly stock with a Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust with aluminum can. Spent the winter taking it down to the frame and motor, cleaned and polished, serviced things that needed, and reassembled. Wife was a huge help and she recovered the seat. It's been my daily driver back and forth to work.
Anyway, glad to see this site, brings back lots of good memories. You all look like a great group and I am proud to be associated with you! Wife and I are looking for another winter Kawasaki project, so I'm sure I'll be talking with you.
A word of warning, my computer skills are somewhat lacking, but I look forward to posting and conversing with you in the future.

Good to have you here!
You must have a wealth of knowlegde, having worked in and owned a dealership.
Sounds like a dream job to me.

Welcome to the site! Really nice to hear that you and your wife share some of this madness. Does she ride... is the next project for her?
By the way, you may have noticed that's its considered real friendly here to add your year, model and location to your signature. It also doesn't hurt in getting the most relevant answers... should you need any.
Best of success and have a really great project season.

Welcome back, and pleased to know you!
Cool to have a member that was a Kaw dealer when a 'muscle bike' was 750cc's or more.
Pictures?

Welcome to the site. Really has helped in situations I find myself...often. AND...it's good to know someone else who is computer illiterate like myself. Yep...even get help here for that too. This is your "all-purpose" site!!! Enjoy!
