You can drop it a few inches by making it a hard tail. But still, it is alot of bike for a beginner. Find a smaller bike to get the fundamentals down. Don't let your ego get the best of you. Last thing you want to do is get injured or worst. I actually saw a woman drop a brand new Harley Heritage because she had to prove that she could buy it and go right out and try to ride it with no experience. She wrecked the bike bad and now walks with a permanent limp...so be careful. Bikes are a blast. You will really have fun if you take your time. Nobody here would ever want to see something bad happen to you. (Now taking off the Dad hat...lol).
