New guy from Ill.

Hey all you KZriders! I'm Rod from beautiful southern Illinois. Cool site you got here! I found an old 1980 KZ650E sitting in a barn about a year ago. I offered the guy a $100.00 and he took it, only draw back was no title. Fixed that though, after a lot of searching(long story)but glad I did it because i've never had so much fun in all my life. I cleaned the carburetors and got it running,cleaned the tank, cleaned the carb's about two more times finaly bought another set of carb's off ebay for about fifty bucks and now it runs great.I don't have any pictures I'll have to see if I can use my boy's camera, also I'm new to the computer world you know one of the last guys on earth to get one! I think my valves need adjusting, its got about sixteen thousand miles on it so I'll need some help there.

Welcome to the site, and congrats on getting your bike running.

Get yourself a copy of the Kawasaki factory service manual for your bike. $20 to $25 on ebay for a hardcopy, $10 for a CD version. It will tell you how to set the valves, as well as tons of other useful info.

Southern Illinois is beautiful! I used to do alot of rock climbing around Ozark and Goreville.
