Just bought a real nice kz900 ltd off of ebay. Its my first bike and im very pleased with the performance of this machine!!! Its a 1976 of course. Has 25000 miles, does not burn oil or leak oil. However i notice that it burns rich, and has a slight miss. By no means am I an expert on carbs or mechanically inclined to work on motorcycles period. I can only try to diagnose by hearsay.

I would like to take it to a mechanic to tune it up. I would like to have the carbs cleaned since the bike was setting for a year. I may also have the points adjusted. If you all can think of anything else that might help me get this thing to run better please let me know. It allready runs better since I bought it 4 days ago. It seems the more it runs the better. It still burns rich and still has a slight miss, but it still hauls ass.

Im amazed by how much power it has. And im sure after the tune up it will perform even better.

thanx all, Nick

Here are some pictures.

Hi Nick,

That is a sweet looking bike! Welcome to KZR!

I used to think that the LTD had a lower gearing than the standard but now I've learned that both models were the same gearing wise. I see two more disks, a four into two exhaust system and a stepped seat. We're there any other differences?

Here's my KZ900:

I stole the dual fronts off of an LTD parts bike I picked up.

This has new paint, and is missing the pin stripe decals. It also doesnt have a center stand, probably cause of the 2 into 1 exhaust H pipe. LTD came with mag wheels also. I thought about getting an aftermarket exhaust just to keep the original for safe keeping.

Thats a cool bike you got yourself!!!
